What is United Way?

Since 1953, United Way of Stanislaus County has been at the forefront of efforts to address the most pressing issues in our community, working to find long-term, sustainable solutions.  The core of our Mission is to inspire unity and empower our community, and we accomplish this by leveraging our strong relationships with other nonprofit organizations and government agencies.

Simply put, we were here YESTERDAY, we are here TODAY, and we will be here TOMORROW.”

2020 was a year of unpredictability and uncertainty, but as we have done for over six decades, we continued to BUILD, ENGAGE, and INVEST in our community. We were able to BUILD by offering organizational support to other nonprofits to ensure they could make the greatest impact with their essential services. We were able to ENGAGE by connecting individuals and organizations who needed help to volunteers who could provide assistance. And we were able to INVEST by directing your donations back to the community in the most impactful ways possible.

What does United Way do for Stanislaus County?

For over sixty-five years United Way of Stanislaus County has helped to BUILD, ENGAGE, and INVEST in our community. We BUILD by offering organizational support for other nonprofits to ensure they are making the greatest impact with their essential services. We ENGAGE by connecting individuals and organizations who would like to volunteer, and help those in need. We INVEST by directing your donations back to the community in the most impactful ways possible. Every dollar you thoughtfully donate supports United Way's work to strengthen and connect organizations and individuals so that our communities thrive.

GIVING TO UNITED WAY

How do I donate to United Way?

When you give to United Way, you join us to improve the community we all call home. United Way offers a variety of options for donors to support the work we do in Stanislaus County.

• Click HERE to electronically give a donation using your credit/debit card.

• Using your cellular phone, text UWDONATE to 41444 to make a one-time or recurring donation with a credit/debit card.

• Join our Workplace Giving campaign if offered by your employer by donating through payroll deduction.

• Drop off a check at our office anytime Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. We are located at 422 McHenry Avenue in Modesto.

Does United Way take in-kind donations?

United Way does not typically accept in-kind donations such as canned food and clothes. By calling 211 of Stanislaus County, you will be assisted in finding an agency that does accept in-kind donations in Stanislaus County. For more questions regarding in-kind donations, please call our office at 209-523-4562.

Where does my monetary donation go?

Your generous donations support the United Way of Stanislaus County projects such as BUILD United, 211 and over 150 local organizations. United Way of Stanislaus County is committed to strengthening and funding local nonprofits and supporting individuals and families in our community.
